Blaauwheim prides itself in being the guest house in Somerset West with the longest continuous 5* grading since we were first graded on 20 November 2008. This year is our seventeenth year since opening our doors. We have held a valid, current 5* grading ever since - our latest grading having been done at the end of July in pouring rain during a severe winter storm. At the moment Blaauwheim also holds the record for the longest single ownership among the few 5* establishments in Somerset West.

Somerset West is a tranquil and upmarket town administratively known as Cape Town East, only 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and 40 minutes from Cape Town city centre.

Blaauwheim Guest House is an exclusive establishment run by co-owners Johan and Jo-Anne Blaauw. It consists of two luxurious suites, Pinotage and Chardonnay as well as a luxurious double bedroom called Shiraz. There is ample secure free parking available within the premises. The lush, treed garden boasts indigenous yellowwood trees.  We have a comprehensive solar system (solar panels, batteries and inverter) and if needs be our own water (with purification system) from a borehole. 

Somerset West is in the heart of the famous Cape Winelands, near the long sandy beaches of the Strand and within easy reach of Hermanus. Excellent restaurants cater for all tastes and there is a choice of many golf courses. Stellenbosch is a mere 10 minutes away and Franschhoek will take another 15 minutes along a beautiful scenic route.

Blaauwheim is less than 1 km from Helderberg Retirement Village and 2,5 km from Somerset College. 

We cater for tourists and corporate guests alike as we are open all year round.
